Green Hill Park in Worcester MA is a large and beautiful space that began as a wilderness and farm area. The Green family, where the park gets its’ name, took care of the land for over 100 years adapting and beautifying the space. Now, the park sits on almost 500 acres and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The public recreational area has several sports courts and places for people to park for walking, biking, and having a picnic. The park is open from dawn until the sun goes down.

Green Hill Park Farm has tons of activities and playground equipment for children. The farm is open all year around. Visitors can stop by any Tuesday through Sunday from ten in the morning until three in the afternoon. They are not open on Mondays. A great thing about the farm is that they welcome large groups. You will have to call 508-799-1190 to set up a good time for the visit. Farm admission is free, and there are several animals for families to watch including pheasants, sheep, a mini-horse, chickens, goats, and alpacas.
Massachusetts Vietnam Veterans Memorial
A four-acre memorial sits on Skyline Drive to commemorate and honor the service of Massachusetts soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam as well as those who served our country. The memorial has a stunning pond with a fountain and walking areas. Guests can sit by the water and remember those soldiers we lost. There are three sections to the memorial where you can read letters soldiers sent home, the name of all the heroes who died, and an area for the flags. In the fall, the beautiful foliage makes a stunning backdrop behind the pond. The park also has a Memorial Grove to memorialize the soldiers who were in World War I.
Sports and recreation
Whether you go to Worcester MA‘s largest park for school, charity, or fun, there are dozens of spaces where you can participate in team sports. The park has a handball court and tennis and basketball courts. The Green Hill Pond is a favorite place in Worcester for residents to get away and do a little fishing. The park has miles of trails for visitors to meander across, exercise, or play. Gazebos and playgrounds throughout the park provide ample room for families to rest or play.

The arboretum is a spectacular place to visit when you have the time to explore and take pictures. There are more than 30 species of trees in the park. When you want to have a special event, the picnic park is an excellent place to have a birthday party or family reunion. An 18-hole golf course provides a challenging par 72 opportunity for those who love the sport. You can visit any day April through October after 6:30 in the morning on weekdays and 6:00 a.m. on holidays and each weekend.
